On Time Dilation

There are two definitive moments in a human’s life where time slows to a stop.

Times of immense focus and of immense dread.

In hours of focus, we’re immersed in an activity. Our mind is clear as we take on the challenge. Time stands still. There is joy in the process.

This is the state of flow. When the body and mind dance in sync along the event horizon.

Close enough to the black hole to slow down the passage of time, but far enough to avoid being sucked in.

Everything is in balance.

On the other side of the black hole, is a couple not moving to the beat.

Their rhythm consists of a cacophony of steps with no rhyme or reason.

This is a troubled mind and body. A pairing that works against each other.

Destined to take one misstep and be torn to pieces on the way to the center.

Right now, time stands still for both mind and body couples.

One will leave the dance floor exhilarated and the other will be torn to pieces when it all collapses.

Which pair are you?
