On Trimming the Fat
There’s a weight currently holding you down. You may not know it yet, but it’s there.
It feeds on time and, in the end, that’s all we have.
Marketers, society and the next door neighbors; adding on pound by pound.
Everyone wants a piece of you. They want to tell you what to wear, what to drive and even where to live.
Companies spend hundreds of millions of dollars to part you with your time and fill you up on debt.
It’s up to you to recognize the sheer mass of their expectations and say no.
Start by looking at your consumption.
What do you spend on a weekly basis? What do you consume daily? What major debt did you pile on in the last 5 years? Is that debt still holding you down?
If you want to trim the fat, you need to know where it is.
The goal is to be lean. Less weight means more mobility. More mobility means more freedom.
Drop the biggest drivers of your weight gain first.
Pay down or sell off your larger debts. Feel your steps start to get lighter.
Don’t lose momentum.
Start cutting the excess subscriptions you rarely use and donate items you have just to impress other people.
Psychology is a game and you won’t let the marketers be the cause of your object obesity.
Finally, remember that diets never truly stick. Its lifestyle changes that keep you lean.
Re-assess your consumption at least once a year.
