On Frequency

We’re all born with a unique set of brainwaves. A beautiful melody of thoughts, actions and emotions that make us who we are. As we get older, we tune our radio to suit our changing tastes, but the songs are still made up of the same basic notes we were born with.

Once we have a few songs we can swing to, we pull out our antennas and start to broadcast our music to the world. Some humans will drop everything they’re doing and dance to the beat, but others will tell us to keep our songs to ourselves.

Ultimately, it’s up to us as the musicians to take that feedback and keep producing our unique sound or change our melody to match what’s popular. If we stray too far from who we are, eventually our instruments will play out of tune and keeping our band together will get tougher and tougher.

When that happens, it’s best to put down our antenna for a bit and focus on the melodies that make us who we are. Our songs were made for us in the first place, after all.
