On Heart Beat
Close your eyes and feel the beat of your heart. Take note of the even rhythm of thuds in your chest and relish the consistency. Notice how, even if you cease breathing, your heart continues on its quest to maintain equilibrium.
Now imagine if your days could reflect the consistency of that small engine powering your body. Every hour effortlessly flows into the next and even the worst event won’t affect the long term flow of your existence.
This is that feeling of fulfillment that a lot of humans are talking about. Contentment with life that doesn’t require making massive shifts or changes to try and feel happy.
You don’t have to do something you don’t enjoy for most of your days just to party way too hard over the weekend to forget it. Living a life characterized by incredibly intense highs and detrimental lows is the equivalent of having an irregular heartbeat. That’s never good.
Once you find your flow and start doing what you enjoy every day, you’ll see that you no longer feel the urge to chase those highs.
Every day is just another beat that keeps your life whole and vibrant.
