On Mornings

The snooze button isn’t just a feature of your phone alarm, anymore. It’s an indicator that your morning routine isn’t everything that it could be. It’s a signal that your priorities are misaligned and you don’t want to start your day because of it.

If you’re hitting the snooze button, something is wrong.

It may be that your first task of the day is to get ready for a job that you hate or to say good morning to a partner that doesn’t treat you correctly. Whatever the case, mornings are too sacred to start off on the wrong foot.

So, I’m asking you to dig deep. What’s one thing you can’t live without? What activity do you want to get really good at? What occupation drives you?

That’s what you should start your morning doing. When you wake up, there should be no doubt in your mind that you want to get out of bed and do that thing. That activity has to be a part of your soul and you just don’t feel like you unless you do it.

The next time you hit snooze. You may need to make a change.
