On One Percent

That’s the difference between a pro and an expert. One percent. A single point separates the great from the legendary, but it means all of the difference.

Reaching expert level won’t come easy, though. That minute difference between 99% and 100% is brutal to attain. It requires endless practice honing every aspect of your craft.

If you’re a basketball pro, you may be a top scorer in the league, but if you’re not good at defense you’re missing an important aspect of the game. If you’re a rapper, you may write the best verses out there, but if you can’t make beats you’re missing out on an important piece of the craft.

This doesn’t mean that it’s easy to reach pro level, either. Becoming a pro is a feat in its own right, but true expertise is hard to come by and requires a focus on every part of the process.

In order to become an expert, you have to fall in love with the process and be okay with small gains making all of the difference.
