On Splurging and Toxicity

We’ve all been there before. That deep trench of regret after a night out. That pang of fear after a brief fling with Amazon. That one night stand with a vacation that just didn’t make sense.

Buying things that don’t bring you joy is the toxic partner that keeps coming back into your life. The lover that always finds a way to lure you back in with the hopes that things will really work this time. It doesn’t have to be that way.

You can flip the script. Beat your counterpart at their own devious game. You can still splurge while also saving at the same time. It’s all about spending only on what brings you joy.

Take inventory of your life. What do you enjoy and what doesn’t matter much to you?

Do you love sushi dinners? Do you not care about the car that you drive? Great! Ditch your nice car and drive something more affordable. You’ve just opened up a couple of hundred dollars a month of cash flow you can dedicate to raw fish.

Selectively splurge and focus on what brings you joy. Don’t go back to your toxic partner.
