On Patience and the Long Game

Success doesn’t happen overnight. It isn’t some magical light at the end of a tunnel nor is it given freely.

Success is a consequence. A byproduct of working hard at your given craft. The culmination of thousands of hours of sweat equity invested in a project.

Success requires patience. The ability to see any wall as an obstacle to climb over rather than the end of the road. An undying love of the mundane. A willingness to learn to walk before you fly.

Success is a long and winding road. It doesn’t come with a map. You’re given the clothes on your back and that’s it. Start walking. One step at a time.

Success is seeing things in years, but being able to break them down into days. It’s going brick by brick with an image of the finished house in your head.

It’s about the long game.
