On Sunday Scaries

Feelings of anxiety and unrest are a common theme for millions of humans every Sunday. Work looms on the horizon and we find ourselves dreading the slew of emails already piling up in our inbox.

These feelings of dread are the fruits of an existence where we feel like we aren’t in control of our fate. A life where we use our weekend to escape our work week rather than making 100% of our days great.

Sunday scaries can be stopped with a tactical change in mindset or lifestyle, however.

It all starts with recognizing that you do have the power to make alterations. If you don’t enjoy your job, you can actively start looking for a new occupation. If you’re scared to open your inbox the next day, you can slot 30 minutes Saturday and Sunday to keep up with responses.

Work already makes up around 250 days of the year. If you’re worrying on Sunday too, you’ve just cut your free time from 115 days down to 65 days.

Let that soak in. If you’re willing to sacrifice even 100 days now to make a change, wouldn’t you do it to win back all of those days lost to the scaries?
