The First Hour is Sacred

Don’t ever let the beginning of your day fall victim to reactive activities.

Email can wait. Scrolling through Twitter and catching up on texts can be pushed aside too.

Let your creative side take hold and crush out the most important part of your day first. Get out of bed and have your tools already laid out in front of you. If you’re a writer, grab yourself a cup of coffee and immediately start putting pen to paper. If you’re a marathon runner, have your watch and running shoes waiting for you at the door.

Momentum is a precious thing and a wave won’t just recede back into the ocean when it’s at its peak. Keep that wave pushing forward and use that inertia to pound through the rest of your day.

The first hour is sacred. Don’t waste it.
